Following his study at the Parsons School of Design, he become well-known on the fashion scene after he designed a grunge assortment for Perry Ellis, leading to his instant discharge.

 
Jacobs is at present the creative director for Louis Vuitton, leading the design of such collaborations as Spouse’s graffiti hand baggagea and Takashi Murakami's pastel-colored accessories. His own fashion lines, Marc Jacobs and the less pricey Marc By Marc Jacobs, are also tremendously fashionable.
